Our story
We design lamps that blend function with fun
High-quality pieces that elevate the ordinary with vibrant colour, rich texture and refined craftsmanship. Rooted in functional simplicity, infused with a creative spark.
01
Good light is the cheapest renovation there is.
You can repaint a room, replace the couch, move the shelf twice. Or you can change what the light does after 6pm — and the whole place feels different.
That's the bet arc + hue is built on. We think the objects in your home shape how you feel in it, and a lamp isn't a neutral object. It's on your bedside table every night of your life. It decides whether the lounge feels like somewhere you want to sit or somewhere you're waiting.
02
So we make lamps worth looking at, that also do the job.
Vibrant colour. Rounded, generous shapes. Powder-coated steel that takes a knock and keeps its finish. Rechargeable batteries so a lamp can follow you from the desk to the stoep without hunting for a plug. Warm light for evenings, cool for working, daylight for the detailed things — on one touch, because nobody wants to learn an app to read in bed.
Nothing here is decorative-only. If a piece can't earn its spot on the shelf and light the room properly, we don't make it.
03
Built to stay out of landfill.
We're a small brand and we won't pretend to be carbon neutral. What we will commit to: recycled packaging with no plastic window and no foam. Replaceable batteries and spare parts kept in stock for at least five years after a lamp is discontinued. Steel over plastic, so a scratch stays a scratch instead of becoming a failure. A two-year warranty we actually honour.
Buying a lamp twice is worse for the planet than anything we could print on the box.

Made for homes like yours.
We design and ship from Cape Town. Prices in rand, delivery in days not weeks, and a real person on the other end of ella@archue.co.za when something goes wrong.
Mix the colours. Clash them on purpose. Put the cobalt one next to the flame one and see what happens. Your home is yours to play with — we just hand over the light.
